The Programme Committee of European Economic Area (furthermore – EEA) and Norway financial instruments Baltic Research Programme (furthermore – Committee) on 21 November 2019 decided that research projects within Latvian open call for proposals in 2020 must address at least one of the topics under five priorities.

Foreign students learn robotics and get to know Latvia


From 1 – 27 July 2019, Riga Technical University (RTU) summer school Robotics. Real Life Applications of Intelligent Design” took place, where the participants were acquainted with development of robotics and related industries in Latvia, improved their theoretical and practical knowledge in robotics, artificial intelligence, 3D modelling, development of prototypes and real models, and the guests were also acquainted with history, language and culture of Latvia.

At seminar will discuss about Erasmus+ program possibilities in facilitating employment


Today, an international seminar in Jūrmala gathers representatives of Erasmus+ project from 16 countries, as well as policy makers and social partners. For two days, the workshop participants will share their experiences, acquaint themselves with examples of the best practices and discuss how to strengthen the impact of Erasmus + projects on facilitating employment and collaboration with the world of labour.

Contestants from the Latvian team received 3 excellence medals in the world’s largest and most prestigious professional skills competition for young professionals WorldSkills 2019, which closed on August 27 in Kazan, Russia.

Learning Latvian and Getting to know Latgale Region in the Summer School


July 12-21, University of Daugavpils hosted an international summer school “Discover Latvia through Latgale Region” where 13 students and academic staff from the USA, Belgium, Czech Republic, South Korea, Georgia, Croatia, Peru, Turkey, and Uzbekistan studied Latvian language and got acquainted with Latvia and Latgale region.
