For the first time Latvian HEI approved for participation in Erasmus+ Joint Master programme


Following the adoption of the revised 2020 Erasmus+ Annual Work Programme, the Education, Audiovisual & Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) has approved the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (JMD) project “European Joint Master in Social Work with Children and Youth” - Riga Stradins University is a project partner in the consortium for implementation of this JMD. This is the first time a Latvian higher education institution (HEI) will be implementing an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree programme in the Erasmus+ programme period (2014 - 2020).

Registration for the EEA and NFI launching event of the Latvian call has started


On 26 August 2020, the State Education Development Agency (VIAA) in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Latvia (IZM) will organize an online launching event for the Baltic Research Programme of the Latvian call. During the event, experts will introduce participants to the topics, challenges and priorities, strategic framework, preparation of project proposals and submission procedures of the Latvian call for proposals of the Baltic Research Programme. Also, a discussion will include reports on the progress of the programme in Estonia and Lithuania.

Results of the Latvian State scholarship for studies and research 2020/2021


State Education and Development Agency (VIAA) informs that application round for Latvian State scholarship competition for studies and research for the academic year 2020/2021 is completed and that evaluation committee, comprised of representatives from the VIAA, Ministry of Education and Science of Latvia and Student Union of Latvia finished evaluation of the applications.

The EEA and Norway grants will support researches, which addresses the major challenges of our region


The Programme Committee of European Economic Area (furthermore – EEA) and Norway financial instruments Baltic Research Programme (furthermore – Committee) on 21 November 2019 decided that research projects within Latvian open call for proposals in 2020 must address at least one of the topics under five priorities.
