An assistant professor from Czechia conducts research on Czech-Latvian cultural ties

Pavel Štoll, an assistant professor from the Czech Republic has used the Latvian state scholarship to come to continue his research at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Latvia, because his principal job at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Charles University in Prague is related to teaching of Latvian literature, culture and language, and Pavel is the head of the Department of Baltic Studies.

Foreign students learn robotics and get to know Latvia

From 1 – 27 July 2019, Riga Technical University (RTU) summer school Robotics. Real Life Applications of Intelligent Design” took place, where the participants were acquainted with development of robotics and related industries in Latvia, improved their theoretical and practical knowledge in robotics, artificial intelligence, 3D modelling, development of prototypes and real models, and the guests were also acquainted with history, language and culture of Latvia.

Learning Latvian and Getting to know Latgale Region in the Summer School

July 12-21, University of Daugavpils hosted an international summer school “Discover Latvia through Latgale Region” where 13 students and academic staff from the USA, Belgium, Czech Republic, South Korea, Georgia, Croatia, Peru, Turkey, and Uzbekistan studied Latvian language and got acquainted with Latvia and Latgale region.
