About Euroskills


EuroSkills is an international professional skills competition for young people where the representatives of more than 30 member countries present their professional skills and competitiveness and compare them to those of young people from other countries. EuroSkills is an opportunity to achieve personal success, to present the quality of the vocational education of one's country, to compare professional competencies, to promote competitiveness and improve the recognition and attractiveness of the vocational education.


The first EuroSkills competition was held in 1998. Alternating with the worldwide competition Worldskills, the Euroskills is a biannual event. In 2010 theEuroskills was held in Portugal, Lisbon. 500 participants from 27 countries representing 52 professions participated in the competition in 2010.


The last competition was held in 2014 in France, Lille.

The next competition will be held in 30 November till 4 December, in Gothenburg, Sweden. 

Participants Young professionals or students of vocational education establishments aged from 17 to 25 are entitled to participate in the competition.

Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Great Britain, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Croatia, Denmark, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Montenegro, Russia.

Organisers  The EuroSkills is organised by the European Skills Promotion Organisation (ESPO). It was established in 2007 for developing and promoting excellence in the field of professional skills by means of organising international competitions and other activities. The organisation of "EuroSkills" competitions is the most important task of the ESPO.
