WorldSkills 2019 competition will be held in Kazan, Russia for the 45th time. The competition will gather young professionals from 67 member countries to compete in 56 skills competitions and it will bring together more than 1,500 young professionals and professional education students under the age of 22 years.

The WorldSkills competition of young professionals is a biannual event and alternates with the European scale professional skills competition EuroSkills. The Latvian team participated in the competition WorldSkills for the first time in 2011.
Participation of the Latvian team in WorldSkills 2019 competition takes place within the project “Career support at general and vocational education establishments” financed by the European Social Fund and co-financed by the Latvian state.
