State Education Development Agency (VIAA) as Erasmus+ LV National Agency in education and training organised transnational training, support and experience sharing seminar “Vocational Education and Training Internationalisation Strategy Development and Implementation” in Riga (LV) on 15 March, 2016.
The seminar had a transnational dimension involving the expertise and experience by representatives from the 2 Scandinavian countries (Denmark and Finland) and 3 Baltic countries (Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia) regarding development of qualitative and complete VET Internationalisation Strategy that is of essential importance for preparing an application for the Erasmus+ VET Mobility Charter.
The seminar target group was representatives from VET sector institutions, Ministry of Education and Science, State Education Quality Service, National Centre for Education of Latvia.
The seminar provided a platform to meet and discuss the issue of the VET internationalization strategy development and implementation. As results for the participants there are:
- awareness raised about the relevance of the internationalization strategy and the requirements for its development;
- sharing the best practices and experience about the VET internationalization strategies’ development and implementation in 5 EU countries;
- support to participants’ expertise in the development and implementation of the VET internationalization strategy within the context of the VET Charter application.
As of year 2015 the European Commission has launched the Erasmus+ VET Mobility Charter 2015-2020 Activity (KA109) to recognize the operational capacity of organizations to manage high-quality mobility for VET learners and staff. The Erasmus+ VET Mobility Charter is intended to encourage organizations that have proven track records of delivering high quality VET mobility to further develop their European internationalization strategies.
